Day visits by scout groups
Please contact loughdan@scouts.ie for up to date information.
Scout patrols and groups are encouraged to use the centre on a day visit basis for a skills day, PL training or as the start & finish location for hikes and why not have a barbeque at the same time. Make yourselves at home.
Please remember that Lough Dan is run as an Eco-Park where we practice the Leave No Trace principles. If scout groups or scout counties using the facilities for a day visit want to make a small donation to the running costs of the centre or towards planting a tree in our native woodland it would be greatly appreciated.
Day visits by non scouting groups
Others using the centre for day visits such as youth groups, summer projects, school day trips, ecology projects etc. will be charged on a per head basis depending on the facilities used. On occasion we facilitate other events use the site or access to Lough Dan on a day visit basis such as for triathlons, walking festivals, open water swim events etc. These are all by prior arrangement and incur a cost based on facilities used and numbers involved.
Lough Dan Scout Center is not open to the general public for access to the lake or for family picnics.
